The technique is specific: an optic tool followed by a hand-applied twist, a sequence that creates a texture unlike anything else in the Simon Pearce candlelight collection. It catches light from every angle differently, making each viewing moment its own. And the twist ensures that no two Calais Hurricanes are identical.

Cleaning

  • Clean with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
  • Remove wax residue carefully before cleaning.

Candle Safety

  • Extinguish tapers and pillar candles when the flame reaches within 2 inches of the base.
  • Never leave burning candles unattended.

What to Avoid

  • Avoid sudden temperature changes, which can cause fractures.
  • Do not place in direct sunlight; light refraction through glass can be a fire hazard.

    Not my favorite

    I purchased this during the recent seconds sale and I'm afraid this time I was fairly disappointed. The 1st item I received was so different than what I've seen in person, so I contacted Simon Pierce and was quickly sent a replacement. The 2nd Calais Hurrican was quite similar to the photos and what I remembered from my store visit, but still lacks the beautiful swirls movement I was expecting. I'm not quite sure if it's because I purchased a second, or maybe this item just isn't as attractive as I remembered. I would suggest selecting another hurricane, as there are SO many other much more beautiful items to choose from. This was a miss for me. It is just too bland and lacks the detail I prefer.

    Beautiful Hurricane!

    I recently purchased this hurricane while on vacation in Vermont. We knew we wanted a piece to commemorate our trip and this was the perfect one. It will be used year round and it looks amazing on my dining room table.
