DETAILS

The tulip shape isn’t just beautiful, it’s functional. The flared rim encourages the aromatic compounds of IPAs, stouts, and sour ales to rise and concentrate, changing the drinking experience in a way that’s genuinely noticeable. A distinctive collar below the bowl, a hefty stem, and a substantial foot carry the DNA of Simon’s earliest work: grounded, direct, built to last. Unlike delicate craft beer glassware that lives behind a cabinet door, this one is made to be used.

Everyday Cleaning

  • Hand washing is recommended; dishwasher-safe if needed.
  • Use a mild detergent on a warm, gentle cycle.
  • Avoid cleaners containing citrus, which can damage glass and cause cloudiness.

What to Avoid

  • Avoid sudden temperature changes. Do not fill with hot liquids or place in the freezer, as this can cause fractures.
  • Do not use in microwaves or ovens.
  • Do not place in direct sunlight; light refraction through glass can be a fire hazard.

    Large Essex Tulip Review

    I was considering choosing a specific location, getting the right pour, the right lighting and or even filters but I decided against all that in favor of more authentic and realistic capture of the glass in action. My Simon Pearce Essex Tulip Glass is the "Large" version from a few years ago now so I wanted to make sure I mentioned that as I understand things can change. That being said it's a lovely glass with a heavy duty build quality and is proportional across all 360 degrees of rotation with high degree of accuracy. The design is eloquent for beer and with plenty of room for a thick foamy head. I saw one review mention how heavy it is, and that's what I love about it. It's not some thin fragile piece of material but a sturdy thick well-made glass that will stand the test of time.

    Finally - a proper glass for beer

    I have two each of the large and small (discontinued) Essex Tulip. It’s a sturdy take on the classic Belgian beer glass style - but any beer presents well in it - especially aromatic beers - IPAs/Barrel Ad Stouts for example. My desert island beer glass!!

    Heavy, bulky and graceless

    Not what I was expecting- these glasses are heavy - the glass is way to thick and they are not appealing in any way.
