DETAILS

The Waterbury Hurricane’s texture isn’t applied or carved. It emerges from a double-gathered glassblowing technique that creates overlapping layers within the body of the glass itself. The inspiration is Vermont’s rushing waterways, and the effect earns that comparison: candlelight moving through the layered form produces a swirling, dynamic glow that shifts as the flame does. No two pieces come out of the process the same way.

CARE GUIDE

Cleaning

  • Clean with a glass cleaner and a soft cloth.
  • Remove wax residue carefully before cleaning.

Candle Safety

  • Extinguish tapers and pillar candles when the flame reaches within 2 inches of the base.
  • Never leave burning candles unattended.

What to Avoid

  • Avoid sudden temperature changes, which can cause fractures.
  • Do not place in direct sunlight; light refraction through glass can be a fire hazard.

    Waterbury large hurricane

    I love the tea light waterbury hurricanes and was excited for this large version. Unfortunately, the striations on the vase are minimal and only occur on the bottom 4th of the vase. It doesn't really look similar to the tea lights as most of the glass is plain. I returned but still love my smaller versions. Maybe SP will revamp the larger model. In that case, I would purchase again.
