SECOND QUALITY
A different silhouette from the rest of the collection. The top branches bow downward under the suggestion of snow weight, and a rounded base gives it a grounded, natural presence.
Seconds are structurally sound and functional, but may include bubbles, surface marks, or a slight wobble from the handmade process. Appearance may vary from the image shown.

The Spruce Evergreen takes its shape from a specific, familiar moment: a spruce after snowfall, branches pulled low by the weight. The rounded base reinforces that naturalistic feeling, giving the piece a settled, organic quality that reads differently from the more upright trees in the collection. Clear glass lets the form do the work, and on an LED base the downward-swept branches catch light in a way that’s worth seeing.
What Makes a Second?
Lines or impressions left by molds and hand tools—visible traces of the process that shapes each piece.
Gentle differences in shape or proportion, including uneven rims or dimensions beyond our usual tolerances.
Occasional larger bubbles or clustered air pockets captured during the molten process.
Swirls or fragments of unmelted materials from the furnace environment.
I eceived by beautiful Trees yesterday! They are beautiful. They were so meticulously wrapped and packages. Such incredible attention to detail and safety! Thank you so very much! I love them!!!
Love out Spruce evergreen. We wanted a timeless piece that could be handed down to our children and we know Simon Pearce's trees will be cherished by us and by within our family for decades in the future.
This piece is beautiful and brings joy just to look at it!
I treat myself to a new tree every year. As an untrained eye I honestly do not see why these are seconds?! They are so beautiful. Mother nature has flaws too, so they are perfect in their own.
I love all my glass Simon Pearce Christmas trees. I am trying to have a mix of sizes and the 6 inch is just the latest. The size and design are just perfect for my collection. I plan to display it along with the rest uplift on my dining table this Christmas. I have received so many compliments every year as my collection grows. I plan to keep collecting so that I have all of the many gorgeous sizes and designs. Thank you for all of the sizes and details including the various designs!
Seconds are fully functional pieces that don’t meet our strict visual standards. Because every item is made by hand, small variations naturally occur throughout the making process. Some seconds reflect the learning curve of new artisans or the refinement of a new design, while others simply fall outside our tolerance guidelines. When this happens, the piece is designated as a second and offered at a reduced price.
Seconds are typically offered at 10%–30% off the original price, depending on the piece.
Seconds may include subtle differences in shape, size, or finish. Common variations can include:
1. Slight dimensional differences beyond our tolerance range, typically ⅛"– ½".
2. Small bubbles within the glass.
3. A gentle wobble that does not affect stability.
4. Occasional stones or cords in the glass, which reflect the molten material and furnace environment.
These variations are visual in nature and part of the handmade process. Pieces that are unsafe, sharp, or unstable are never offered as seconds.
No. Because seconds celebrate variation, each piece is unique and may differ from the product photography shown. That individuality is part of what makes seconds special.
No. All seconds are final sale.
Seconds are not eligible for gift boxing or wrapping. However, you may contact our Customer Care team to purchase a gift box separately if available. Gift messages may still be added at checkout.
